Mission and Vision
Mission
PADO’s mission is to enhance Puntland’s economy through a sustainable and productive primary sector—agriculture, livestock, fishery, and forestry—while reducing food insecurity and creating youth employment. To achieve this, PADO fosters collaboration among policymakers, farmers, and the private sector for robust agricultural development. Additionally, PADO promotes environmental protection by advocating sound range management techniques and policies. Strategies to further its mission include seminars, lectures, debates, and discussions on environmental issues and their management in Puntland.
Vision
PADO envisions transforming Puntland’s agricultural sector into a productive, efficient, and sustainable industry, driving food security and economic growth. PADO aims for Puntland to become a high-quality producer, creating jobs and decent incomes for the rural population. The organization also sees the local business community as a key investor in agriculture. Recognizing livestock rearing as a major contributor to food security, employment, and foreign exchange through exports, PADO plans to integrate livestock and crop farming sectors to enhance overall agricultural development.
